Sunday December 2, 2018
BOULDER BEES AND IANDS present:
Joseph Campbell: Soothing Mystic for Toxic Times -
And the Mythic Connections to the Arts and Artists
Steve O’Bryan (retired professor of Ancient Greek and Roman History, owner and photographer at Wild Basin Photography, and longtime facilitator of all things Joseph Campbell)

DATE: Sunday December 2, 2018 1:00-3:00 pm
AT: Unitarian Universalist Church
5001 Pennsylvania Street, Boulder, Colorado
During this multi-media presentation: We will quickly review Campbell’s four functions of myth/religion and how these relate to living day-to-day in difficult times.
Also, the mix between myth, art, and artists, starting with Joseph Campbell’s own words: “Art is the funnel through which spirit is poured into life . . .” The artist’s job is to create “significant forms” that stir the modern fractured psyche, “offering to consciousness an aesthetic object, while connecting to the unconscious”
Admission is open to all. Reservations not necessary. $5 for IANDS/BEES members, $10 for all others
